About HPV
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common sexually transmitted infection that can lead to various health issues, including genital warts and certain cancers. HPV vaccination is an effective way to protect against the most common types of HPV that can cause these problems.
Who can have it
The HPV vaccine is recommended for both males and females, ideally before they become sexually active, to significantly reduce the risk of developing HPV-related diseases.
A two-dose schedule is now recommended for all children and adults except for those with immunosuppression or HIV infection.
